Good Luck with that as much as I like hanging out down in NYC. I don't think I could ever live there.

Because of moving house, yesterday was really the first time I got to sit down with MB after about one month´s abstinence. Was very pleased to come across two other returnees, and a new acquaintance ( Moshe, Cenotaph and Mr. Charlie respectively).
All I need now, ahem, is for Vanilla to acknowledge the PM I sent her!

So this happened today:
I was up front with my manager and we were watching this guy who some customer said was stealing things. I found the empty plastic bags that the items were taken from so I went and grabbed them. The guy was heading toward the entrance because most people try to skip out with stolen goods through the entrance thinking nobody will see. I noticed he was heading there and told him that the exit is behind me, not where he's headed. He starts mocking me saying things like "oh, so am I not allowed to touch it then? Is that illegal now?" and so my manager comes over and says "sir, he was just showing you where the exit is for your convenience." He then comes over to the two of us and starts going off on me and my manager, and he knew I knew because I was holding the empty bags that he had stolen from. As he's trying to walk out, he has books with him that we saw him take from our book department, my manager asks "did you pay for those?" and he states he got them from Half Price Books which is bull****, and as he's being escorted out the door, he starts calling my manager a stupid ****ing bitch while throwing the books at me. Interesting day to say the least. Also one of the scariest moments of the day as well. He could've had a gun on him for all I know. |

I work for Value Village so i'm actually pretty happy with it since I work in production. I don't deal with customers too often. I guess i'm also lucky that my managers don't believe in the "customer is always right" crap because 10/10 times the management team will side with the employee.
