On phone shop workers: I tend to dislike having to interact with any human being in the service sector really, but from my experience those guys are some of the most antisocial and awkward of the bunch. Not that it matters because my phone seems to working again just fine, which is odd considering I was always told that taking a magnet to that stuff normally meant you'd have to sync it up to something again at least. But to balance it out with some bad news I may actually have that semi-serious head problem so I'm not out of the water yet.

I was seduced through friendly guilt by a charismatic Amnesty International employee, he made me feel really bad. I very nearly did it, and maybe I should have, I really want to help the people they help, some of the stuff he told me was awful. If I had any kind of income I would definitely give ten euro a month, but the fact that they make you feel guilty...I guess they are trained to do that. But I still feel bad, I said I didn't have my bank card with me, then he said he would ring me later, and that he had faith in me, my phone is now off. I'm a dick. A good natured dick.

My mom used to work at World Vision in the early 90's, in their call centre (where you would call them only if you wanted to sponsor a child). She often worked with people who were going out to look for potential sponsors, and they'd come back with tales of people telling them to fuck off and leave them alone. She also said one person told them that they didn't give a crap about poor kids in Africa and why should organizations in other countries give them money to squander.

Had coffee this morning with a friend.
Went to Universidad Centroamerica for my Spanish class, fell asleep in class, ate surprisingly good taquitos during lunch break, and drank frozen coffee with another friend before I left. Came home, laid in my hammock and read for a bit. Sat in the grass and hung out with another friend outside for awhile, discussing religion and friends of ours who live elsewhere. Now I'm sitting and journaling and trying to brainstorm for more serious writing. It's been a good Thursday. Soon I'll have dinner, and then it'll be time to prepare for my weekend of traveling out into the Nicaraguan countryside, to go hang out with my favorite kids in the world... and possibly chill with some Peace Corps volunteers I met last week.
