By the logic subconsciously employed in hauntings, no. Only spooky-looking things can be haunted. Toothpicks are not spooky-looking, therefore they cannot be haunted.
Don't question why, nor should you reason away this argument. That's not allowed. Just keep the toothpicks.

Its been really beautiful outside today so ive been out here since I got outta work. Just been jamming with a few friends and having a few brews. A nice relaxing sunday

Yeah I think it could be worse than that. I think the voices were asking you to develop the film, as they were trapped thereon as spirits. Now you've condemned them to an afterlife where they can see nothing more interesting than badgers getting it on, and can try to pass the boredom by trying to resurrect the dead fox and make it scare the badgers. Shame.
