Actually that's only in Virginia. Funny that you also get Monday off for MLK day.

I looked it up earlier today actually. Back in the 80s and 90s the state of Virginia even combined all three into Lee–Jackson–King Day, I kid you not. If there's more of a dick move out there, I can't think it off hand.

Went visit my sister and brother in law today. Got to hold their baby (my nephew) for the first time, who is now 6 days old. Was pretty sweet. That boy can fart! Contest-winning farts.

Reconciled with my ex girlfriend today, we might get back together. This time I won't **** it up.

I've been playing a lot of music lately, and I wonder if there's a point where it's too much because I'll often jam and be utterly exhausted for about an hour. I was playing some hardcore saxophone with a dank drummer earlier, probably the best free jazz I've done so far. But that does take a physical toll when you put your entire body into your music, I guess.

Hah, yeah, I know. I grew up in Virginia in the years of Lee-Jackson-King Day. It may be that I was in the DC burbs but everybody in my area still just called it Martin Luther King Day. Even in school.

In fact, I was an adult before I even really knew about the Lee-Jackson holiday. So the split-up of the two days allowed Virginians to revere the Confederate leaders more, and have a 4-day weekend. Everybody wins.

I was actually bummed out today because my little sister and I realized we'd missed the new episode of Victorious.
