Had a funny road rage incident today. Was driving my normal 75 in the fast lane which is common for Cali hwys. Had a guy pull up behind and almost ram into me. So of course I slowed down and started to cat and mouse the guy just to infuriate him which always works. Dude followed me when i got out of the lane and started to swerve towards me several times. So of course the guy rolls his window down and wants me to pull over so I did.
I wasn't really thinking much of it so i parked as did he. I am big enough to handle myself so I hopped out and immediately this guy hopped out. Dude was an African American male about 6'7 280 which was a bit imtimidating. I approached him anyway and dude pulled off his sunglasses and said MIKE? I noticed it was a friend from the high school basketball team Courtney. So we laughed it off and I got his number to keep in touch. Probably not the smartest thing to hop out but turned out harmless. We got a chuckle out of it. I told him your free to be an ******* on the highway for the rest of the day and he said likewise ******* talk to ya later. |

And yea, it's precisely the position I was looking for. It's strange, because I had been using Careerbuilder to look for openings in IT, and had sent plenty resumes out there, but they were all for positions either above or below my experience level and I never got any correspondence. Finally, I just decided to go on Craigslist and found an ad, sent my resume', not actually expecting anything, and they replied back immediately and the next day I got the call. I don't mind the teaching gig, but unless they made me permanent, then the hours just aren't enough. Hopefully, if I'm hired for this new gig, they'll understand that I don't want to leave my students hanging and let me finish the semester, which is only 2 hour classes, 3 days a week. I really really hope they're ok with that. |
