Best of luck. Mine started out similarly. Fine for 22 years, then started having seizures out of nowhere. Now I'm termed "epileptic" and take multiple medications daily and am no longer allowed to drive.

Why do you use quotation marks? I ask cause thats what I would do. I am diagnosed as epileptic and take medication for epilepsy, but really they have diagnosed me as epileptic because they can rule out everything else. Not because they can prove I have it.

I've had a doctor friend tell me that 2 organs that doctors are, so far, simply incapable of fully understanding are the brain and the stomach. People get the shits (irritable bowel syndrome) for no known reason. And some peoples' brains occasionally freak out and cause seizures. Unless there is a tumor or a drug overdose, they don't know why. But they know it happens so they decided to call it epilepsy.

As Engine hinted at, it is because it is such a broad term and overused term. Recurring seizure disorder is also applicable. Epilepsy is far more common than people think, and can be far more rigorous and devastating as well. In history, it has been labeled "The Sacred Disease," as many prophets have been afflicted with it. I used the quotation almost sarcastically, as there is unfortunately a stigma in society about people with epilepsy, and how they may fall over at any second.

Woke up...got out of bed...dragged a comb across my head... went down stairs and I had a smoke and somebody spoke and I went into a dream......
No actually I got up, made coffee, listened to some Jellyroot on Spotify, walked to the mailbox, grabbed the paper and here I sit on Music Banter. |
