Went to a surprise party for my coworker with some of the other friends from work. Was really fun. I did get into a minor fight when I stuck up for a depressed coworker who they were bitching about (my exact words: "You all need to get some ****ing empathy!"), but it all ended up okay.

And just as I got home and sat down to relax, I was surprised with an offer to go to some thrift stores to shop around, which I did. Picked up a DVD of John Cussack's record shop comedy, High Fidelity. Never heard of it, but it was a dollar, so who cares. I also SOMEHOW found Mono's album, One More Step And You Die. I am not even sure how, but hey, I'll take it.

Then I fell asleep on the way home. I am now tired, happy, and listening to Tom Waits. I could go for some sweet tea.

That's terrible. I've lived with cats since I was like four years old, and I've buried far too many of them. Always terrible. My mom, my best friend, and I once actually held a Jewish funeral for one of them.

If you're a Calvin and Hobbes fan, this whole thing just mirrored when Calvin and Hobbes find the hurt baby raccoon. That one is going to mean a lot more now.
I remember that one. The part where Calvin's mom is talking to Hobbes is probably the most real moment of any newspaper comic strip I've ever read.

I thought it was good. Now I wonder how I had never heard of it before.

It's not going up on my list of "best movies ever" any time soon, but it was definitely enjoyable!

if you like it, you might want to check out the book

the book has an English setting, though

and you might be unfamiliar with some of the acts in it

3:50am and I'm wide awake. Stupid insomnia. I have to get up by 7:30 at the latest.
