I've never been to Ireland but I assume the weather isn't too different. Why are you and Rubato so intent on selling the British Isles short?

I actually like the weather here, but just wanted to say how it is. If I want something different I can just get on a plane and in about 90 mins flying time be on the Med with sun, blue skies and heat.

I'm mostly in the minority about the weather though, a favourite past-time of most Brits is to run down the British weather.

I know, and I think it's hilarious.

Does it really get that cold there, though? Do you get snow? I guess it's not like the winters we normally get here - freezing your ass of at -30 C (yeah, those temps are reached once in a while) and snow covering everything. But I'm sure it's a really nice break from the really hot summers you guys have!

I'm sure he'll give you a job as his secretary.

I am college educated and speak 3 European languages.

I think I can do a little better than secretary.

I am university educated to Masters level and speak 2 European languages.

But I would be quite happy working as a secretary.

cool.

@unknown, I am sorry if you aren't employed at the moment. The economy is tough all over. I have been in the same job for 16 years. It would be difficult for me to have a reduction in pay.

I am employed, but just saying that a secretary is not a job to be looked down upon.
