I should've mentioned the grey skies here, that's what depresses most people.

You were in Wales right? Wales, Scotland and the west of the UK get huge amounts of rain off the Atlantic, the east of the UK actually get very little.

Out of interest, how well can a European live in your country?

Caucasians are treated very well here, because most of us still have a neo-Colonialist mind-set

and most people here can speak English

the only problem you'll have is probably the weather and the spiciness of the food

The reason I ask, is that there is a neighbour of mine that lives down my road, that leases his house out to either professionals or students for 1 year contracts, at the moment he has Chinese students there. With the money he gets, it covers his mortgage and other bills etc and according to him leaves a whole load of money left over. He then lives about 6 months with family and also works, the other 6 months he lives in Thailand and has one hell of a holiday, I'm not sure if he rents there or has bought a property there but says he lives a great lifestyle there.

That's why I'm asking what its like in Malaysia as I don't reckon it will be too different, also how cheap is it there? As for spicy food I eat Indian and Mexican food a lot.

not much different here - i don't think you have much problems finding money here if you're white

much more spicier than the equivalent in the UK

Gotcha with the food.

So how can a white person find easy money in Malaysia?:D

if you're reasonably qualified, i think the employment opportunities are higher than locals

and you can just teach English, somehow your race gives you an edge, in those high-level centres

I love gray skies! The only time I've been to England was in the month of February and the weather I experienced (cool, overcast, some rain, one evening of non-sticking snow) was very comfortable for me. I've never been to Ireland but I assume the weather isn't too different. Why are you and Rubato so intent on selling the British Isles short?

Now that's weather I wouldn't like, though I'd certainly love to visit.
