Plus all the friends that went with me are just as geeky or strange as I am, so I'd have no shame in parading past them in an old engine.

I know, but I'm only sixteen, and I was so embarrased when my girlfriend turned up when I was driving a steam train full of tourists! You do feel pretty satisfied; it's one of those times where you can say that you've really done a good day's work.

Funny how this was the next post:

True. Don't want to overcompensate for it and start being "that guy." I imagine desperation looks just as ugly on men as it does on women.

And yes, you're right: the very last thing you want is desperation (And to be taking advice on love from a sixteen year old english boy :))

The wedding went quite well, the only hiccup involving the bride's bouquet. The groom, on the way to the venue, was quite flustered and nervous and bumbling, and also the keeper of the bouquet which he was to take to the venue.

Overcome with nerves and awkwardness, he put the bouquet on top of the car while loading in other things for the wedding. He totally drove off with the bouquet on top of the car, and it fell off onto the road in the parking garage.

The bridal party was carpooling, and we found it as we were leaving. The poor groom did get his head bitten off by bridezilla, but it was calmed down within fifteen minutes or so.

Lovely wedding. I drank a bit, danced a bit, and sat at the head table.

Today, I drove back from Cincy, and played a **** ton of pool with my buddy once I got back in town.

Tom, one of my forum members committed suicide.
A great man has left this planet. He was an artist, these are not often people who have easy lives. This man has had a pretty rough life. It seemed okay, but then his wife died and he lost pretty much everything he had. I'm still feeling pretty strange about this. I talked to his brother on the telephone for 90 minutes yesterday. It's strange to talk to a 60 year old crying man you've never even heard of before.

Tom left us (my forummembers) almost all of his posessions. 3000 CD's, 1000 LP's, loads and loads of tapes, audio equipment, photographical equipment. I'm the one who has to decide who gets what, which is pretty ****ed up.

So these days are... Sad, and somehow interesting. I feel like I'm learning a lot right now.
As for Tom. It's allright this way. Altough I feel sad for everyone he left behind, this is really what he wanted. He tried for three long years after his wife died, but it was somewhat pointless, really. I still admire him for trying though.
