GReat! My dad's friend came round this avo and worked out how we could connect to our wi-fi then just before he left it cut off. I went through and my dad said they'd switched it off because it was 'stopping him from opening his emails'. No idea wtf has gone on there.

I saw some baby seals today. I think I can safely say that they are some of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Finally played an open mic!

It was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life. During the first song and the banter leading into the second song, I was completely disoriented and felt like I was having an out of body experience - but apparently still made it through the songs, remembering all of the lyrics and chord changes, and had some nice humorous banter (even if I don't remember what I said. It was something self-deprecating but good-humored, from what I was told after the show.)

BUT, I have a huge phobia of singing in front of people, for some reason, but not any other form of public entertainment; I can act, do public speaking, or anything else without even thinking about it - but wow. That was an adrenaline rush.

First song, I was shaking a little bit, but I got better as I went along. So glad that when my fight or flight reflex kicked in about thirty seconds into the song, I decided to keep going and quit being a wimp.

God, that was awesome.

That sounds great! Open mic is more real than just Karaoke. Although I admit that Karaoke is not all that easy to do itself, its easier to cover each others mistakes playing live, karaoke has no second chance options for mistakes during the song ("having fun" is the main concern performing and playing music). Just relax and don't worry about it and "catch a wave"! through the audience. You don't have to make direct eye contact with the audience, instead just (scan) look at the top of their head instead, if it helps you to be more relaxed and comfortable. I just love it! when I see other people experience performing in front of a live audience, for the first time. :D

They really are. It's like looking at a kitten in a little furry sleeping bag or some such absurd level of cuteness.
