... What? Is there a film being shot or something?

FETCHER. 08-17-2011 08:05 AM

Yah, World war Z, its pretty surreal. We have the big yellow traffic lights and all. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got a train up from london yesterday. All I know is they arrived in Glasgow Central Train Station. They must be following me, they were in Cancun at the same time as me. I'm petrified to say the least...

Ugh, I really wish they weren't turning World War Z into a movie... it's far better suited as a TV series, preferably on HBO or Starz so it actually lets them use the amazing source material. Each one of the stories could have been adapted into a 30-minute segment and allowed for multiple directors to utilize the different styles of each segment, some more fast paced action, and others more brooding, focusing more on the psychological aspect of being trapped in a world full of zombies.

Oh well that's Hollywood for you.

This afternoon I'm going on a family trip to the Iowa State Fair, which is always interesting, especially for a vegan, since I can go commiserate with the pigs and other livestock. Although I've been there many times, I still find it strange to observe how almost every other person in Iowa views animals as commodities.

Besides people-watching and pig-petting, I look forward to riding on the Double Ferris Wheel, which I first enjoyed as a child whooshing up into the air on hot, starry Iowan evenings!

Here, now you can experience it, too, with some nice strangers who take you along for the ride:

Are the police having a bad time of things in Iowa then?

I imagine they wouldn't feel the need to have another zombie TV show, what with The Walking Dead and all. I personally wouldn't mind three or four zombie shows, but that's just me.
