Haha, exactly. 27 this summer.
System is quite different here though. We have 8 years of elementary school and, depending on the level you work on, 4 to 6 years of high school (if you make it all at once). Then you can do colleges on different levels, lowest being "MBO" (Middelbaar beroeps onderwijs, meaning someting like average job schooling), then HBO (Higher job schooling ;D) and university. These take 3 to 6 years, depending on what you study. It's pretty normal for your university to take a lot longer, you can plan it as you wish. Well I myself did 8 years of elementary, 5 years of high school and one year HBO. And then everything stopped going according to plan

Going to Ontario (mainly Toronto) for a week in August!!!
My friends and I had been planning it already, but we've got everything arranged. Got a text today telling me to apply for my NEXUS card or just get my passport in order. (NEXUS would be cheaper, even with the drive). SUPER SUPER SUPER excited! I've never actually been to Canada before.

Had an interview today and I think it went fairly well. Hopefully I'll get some good news back by the end of the week.
I also went wandering around Dublin for a few hours trawling through various record stores and other interesting places. The whole city seemed to be full of tourists, on nearly every street there seemed to be either elderly Americans with baseball caps and cameras pointing at random things or Scottish people walking around in large groups wearing kilts (Ireland are playing Scotland in a soccer match this Sunday). On the train journey up and down I listened to the new Bon Iver album while staring out the window and the music resonated so unbelievable well, music and train journeys go so well together. I usually get the train to Dublin rather than drive because I hate driving long distances and driving around Dublin is usually a nightmare, plus I can have a bit of comfort as well.

Nope, I have autism and I live from disability benefits.
I do work a lot though, I just don't get paid for it. But I'm doing fine

I just did my first and very last gig with the Pursuits a.k.a the band I was talking about a few pages back, since two of them are seniors and graduating tomorrow. Really sad, but it was a lot of fun .
I even wore a goddamn fedora. |

I want to get a Fedora and a Kangol. I'm going to slowly build up a nice hat collection so when I'm rocking my suits I have something to go along with it. Well the March in my city went well. They threw me on the leadership team. I don't even really consider myself a leader but more of an idea person that feeds them to leaders and they end up taking my ideas and getting all the credit for it which I'm fine with. Anyways, I was at the forefront of the march and holding the banner while everyone else marched behind us chanting. A drunk guy decided to join the march but he wanted to stand in front of us and I totally understood why. How cool is it to be walking down the street with a group of people following behind you? He was drunk with that sort of power because you can tell by the way he was walking like he owned the street ROFL. I had to talk to the city manager in front of the press and signal when we would start chanting and stop.

Today was all right. I slept in impossibly late, and spent a lot of time reading, then had delicious pasta with my mom. Then I kicked back and wrote a lot, also got some feedback on a poem/prose piece I wrote last night. The teachers are on strike which I support 100%, and we go back on Friday (then it's the weekend again!) It's 3:49 here and I'm not tired.. though I wish I were. I'm just building some writing pieces to chose from for a reading night we're having in June, then it's exams, grad, then my aunt's wedding, then moving and finally, figuring out university. I can't wait for the week after grad: 100% non-allocated, free time. Awww yeeeah. |
