Tim Horton's is basically the blue-collar coffee shop. Unbelievably popular here though. And yeah, we're going out early next week.

Nice, nice :).

You know that "Coffee Shop" always gets me confused?
For some reason I don't see a "Coffee shop" is the word for a store in which you can buy weed and smartdrugs, here ;).

I think that's the first time I've ever used that term. I thought it was a universal thing.

Oh man, I love Tim Horton's. If you ever go out to Hamilton, go visit the flagship store at 65 Ottawa St, just to say that you've been there lol! They have the original sign and everything, and I think the government has even named it a heritage location.

Nope. It's not urban dictionary either. It's really on the news.
"The mayer of Maastricht is in debate with the Belgian government about the closing of coffee shops near the Belgian border" blablabla.

MoonlitSunshine 04-22-2011 11:25 AM

Coffee shop only means that in holland, afaik. I'd heard the phrase to mean both before, but the dutch meaning is rare if existent outside the country!

s_k 04-22-2011 11:29 AM

Belgium.

MoonlitSunshine 04-22-2011 02:05 PM

...is essentially an extension of holland (I keed), and so falls within the "rare" category. Given the way their government is at the moment, they may well be extinct soon :P Consider the fact that weed marijuana isn't legal in the majority of countries in the world, having shops named as selling it wouldn't work too well!

s_k 04-22-2011 03:31 PM

What does "I keed" mean?
I hope you mean you're kidding?

MoonlitSunshine 04-22-2011 03:33 PM

on the first part, yes. On the rest of it, not so much.
