She's named after my Grandmother on my Mother's side, her middle name was Phoebe.
My sister is named after her too, her middle name is a shortened version of her first name Joyce.
Me & my sister never met her though, she died before we were both born.

You know my nephew was watching some kids TV show and they had a bunch of people in ape suits (And Kylie Minogue) singing a song I thought sounded familiar.
Then when I realised I wasn't having acid flashbacks it hit me, they were playing Monkey Man by The Specials.

At first I was horrified, but then it dawned on my this would be a good time to begin manipulating my nephew's taste in music. It's not like his mother & father have any, I'll be doing him a favour.

...But first, let me write this paper that I've had all semester to do. :D

I've been out the past two nights and actually really looking forward to staying in tonight. :D

I was supposed to go out tonight to a battle of the bands night but everyone just flaked out, so I'm guessing I'm stuck here for the night haha :) I'd really love a beer right now but unfortunately the off-licences are closed :(

I wanted to go out last night because this bar was having a naughty school girl night but the weather said that rain/snow was coming and I didn't feel like going out in that. I will be going out tonight to check out this local band and Saturday night is always dance party night with the local radio station.

My highpoint so far today was jump-roping with children while adults twirled the rope. The rope was long enough for two people to jump at the same time. I haven't jump-roped in years, so that was fun.

And my exciting news about tomorrow is that I get to go to a child's roller skating birthday party!!!!!!! I'm really looking forward to a Saturday afternoon rollerskating party at the local rink. I have a brisk social life out on the town, rivaling even yours. :p:

Working on a clay sculpture at the moment. Pretty much the only "interesting" thing about my day. Oh... finally got an interview for a job. I guess that counts too.

Today, I got accepted into the smart person high school! LIFE IS GOOD
the best part is, I'm a straight C student, and an A student didn't get in. You want to know why me, the lesser child was accepted? my application was ambitious and the letter said that "I had good plans for the future following my dreams" apparently that's a good thing.

aside from that, I'm considering growing my hair out long and getting straight across bangs. Would that look okay?

today was Free Cat Friday at our local Humane Society.

this is Carlos. he's a strong, clever, playful 8 month old kitty with a lot of personality :D
