I'm a hot chick, yeahhh...
The south. When you take a map of holland (or the Netherlands, whatever you want to call it) there's this little appendix on the lower right. It has a very narrow part. That's where I live. On the left is Germany. I think that when I scream really loudly they literally hear me. When I drive for less than 10 minutes, I'm in Belgium.

Also, I was always taught that Holland was the part that is attached to mainland Europe, and that The Netherlands was Holland, plus the few small islands off the coast of Holland. So unless you are on an island, I'll just be saying Holland from now lol |

Hahaha, sorry man. The other way around.
Germany's on the right, Belgiumo n the left. As far as I know the Americans and Britains use Holland and the Netherlands whenever they like. I think it's both allright. Here the entire country is called "Nederland", which obviously means "Netherlands". What we call "Holland" are the two provinces "Zuid holland" and "Noord Holland", meaning "South Holland" and "North Holland". Eitherway, whenever a Dutch person writes a holiday card to his own country, he writes "Holland" on it. I'm not sure why that happens. Most dutch people will say "I'm from Holland". I prefer to say The Netherlands. Seems more logical to me. A map to make everything as clear as possible: I live in Limburg, on the lower right. Right from this map is Germany and Limburg is situated in a 'gap' in Belgium. So I was right in saying that I live between Belgium and Germany. On the left of the country is sea (and England at some point). On the left you see "Zuid Holland" and "Noord Holland". The little islands do belong to the Netherlands indeed. They are called the "Waddeneilanden". They reach all the way to denmark. Obviously only the ones above the Netherlands are belonging to the netherlands. I plan on going there some day, seems nice to me

The family on my father's side were from northern Holland somewhere, but I have lost contact with that side of the family since my father died. I am pretty interested in the country, and how the people live over there. Sorry if my asking questions offends you.

Most people here seem to be really careful about their privacy. I'm allright with it.
When I don't want to answer a question, I won't. Thanks eitherway Boozinbloozin'
