So it looks like I'm taking in a dog this evening that I found wandering around the streets of my neighborhood. His tags didn't offer up much info except that his name is Rudy and he may live all the way out in Carson Valley, about 50 miles away. He's a really well behaved dog but I just don't have the resources to look after him for more than a night.

I know it's ****ed up, but a lot of people out here just drive their dogs to the middle of the desert and leave them there. The SD Humane Society charges quite a bit to take in pets, so people just desert them, literally. Maybe your pal is one of those who just wandered over towards you.

thats awful. i would hope most people would at least bring a gun.
