Its actually not. That part of iraq is for all intents and purposes its own country. separate parliament, separate visa stamps, separate military. Most of the region has been very quiet for the last few years and its been open to foreign travellers for a few years now. Friends of mine went last year and said they found no problems. so long as you do your homework and make sure you know which areas to avoid and which roads are safe (meaning which roads are still in the kurdish controlled part of iraq) its pretty safe. Unfortunately we only have 4 days but if i get the opportunity maybe Ill go back someday.

School is kicking my ass already and it's only been one week. With my classes, I have no time to do anything but do homework during the week, and then next month when I've got work again I'll have no time on the weekends too. Joy.
Also, I'm already sick. What the ****. :/
