I've been to Rome, Florence, and Venice a couple of times. Rome is where it's at. If you're into the ancient Roman stuff, you can do that. Of course there is the great food culture, but I suppose that is present in all of Italy. Rome had great museums and land marks to visit. Plus the Vatican is next door. Florence was great for it's art museums too.

Florence would be fantastic, and Pompeii...well I would love that simply because of the history. I love historical places. Not too interested in visiting the Vatican though.

That will be wonderful, NSW! I went to Italy 15 years ago...Florence and Venice. It was a lovely trip. I especially enjoyed seeing an Italian friend I hadn't seen in years, the scenic countryside dotted with gnarled olive trees and tall, straight evergreens, women walking around Florence in massive fur coats and high heels, motorscooters, and great artwork I'd read about in books! And the cathedrals with body parts of various saints were fascinating in a ghoulish way. Very memorable...and so different from home.

Today, unfortunately, we are without potable drinking water due to flooding in Iowa. To top it off, my child started vomiting at 2:00 a.m. and so we've been up since then. His daycare said a teacher and another child are also out sick, so it could be the flu.

Luckily, we are much better off than people in Pakistan and China, where apparently many thousands have died due to flooding. It is at times like this that living in a wealthy country with excellent infrastructure is especially beneficial. Sadly, one reason flooding is so bad here in Iowa is that city governments persist in allowing people to BUILD IN FLOOD PLAINS EVEN WHEN THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ASKS CITIES NOT TO!!!!!

first day on job working security in indy, i worked at conseco for j. bieber. i checked hundreds of purses today, and i was surprised at how many bras were just sitting there. maybe they were planning on giving justin some.

i haven't worked in a few months. i was reminded how unconditioned i am by the constant pain in my legs during the standathon. i had a ten minute break where i could sit but other then that i was probably standing in place thinking about the pain in my legs. i don't know if this is the job for me. i think i would rather work in a kitchen than stand around doing nothing for seven hours.

Especially if you're standing around having to hear Bieber. I'd file a law suit.

Having to hear Bieber's teenage caterwauling is a workplace hazard... I'd get my workman's comp papers in, pronto!

Been a hot minute, MBers. That's because I moved to Austin, Texas and am now enjoying life immensely, although I am jobless, the ride out here was an arduous journey more akin to running a gauntlet, and well those are pretty much my only beefs.

How are y'all?
