Cox cable guy came today to hook up the modem. The guy said they don't run LAN cables anymore (liar?), but he had some Cat-5 and everything to do the cables so I got him to let me make some cables and run them. Anyway... Got some pretty fast intarwebz now. 11mbps downstream. Time to destroy some BC2.
So weird... I never realized how slow DSL was until now. |

Oh yea, I found out that my COCKS cable internet has a bandwidth limit. Boooo... Well, it's 200 GB per month and then they throttle you... but you'd have to download around 8 movies a day (at 750MB a piece) for 30 days straight to reach the limit, even accounting for standard web browsing in between. So I guess I'm not all turned off by it. I doubt I'll ever reach such epic downloading proportions. It's just so freaking speedy! I type a url, and the whole page shows up instantly. I'm just so not used to this. |

Anyways my day was marked by some work, a drive to Nevada's capitol to deliver a tub of broken glass and single crossbow bolt (don't ask), and a trip to some used bookstores. I made out like a bandit too, 3 Vampire The Masquerade clanbooks and a beginner's guide to HTML for less than $20. Going over to a friends place soon to watch the third season of The Wire |

Asked my girl yesterday and my girl said yes
Took her out on a surprise morning picnic in the boat and drove off to these cliffs by the sea where we had a breakfast on a sunny little mountain top with a gorgeous view. I wanted to propose to her by the sea in the place I'm from, so that was perfect. After that, I rehearsed for a concert we're playing with our folky shanty band on friday. We have this red little boathouse we play guitar in. Then, me and a mate from the band took the boat out to fish a bit before the sun went down. The ocean was quiet and the skies were amazing .. didn't even look real, looked more like a painting. Just before sunset, it was all vivid colours and there was a cloud in front of the sun, but huge shafts of sunlight was piercing through it here and there. And we saw dolphins, although they didn't jump or anything. That's a rare sight down here. I also caught a bit of fish, 9 mackerels and this other strange thing I don't know what's called in english. Gave 5 away and then me and the GF had the other 4 for supper, just fried in the pan with a bit of lemon, salt, pepper and parsley. Pretty close to a perfect day
