It was a stupid question, to be honest, I just noticed your location is Budapest...

Anyway, I'm going travelling over there in a few days. Don't know why I needed to share that.

cool! lots to see here. coming with friends? how long will you be around?

must see:
parliament (tour is optional, time pending, but at least check out the building)
castle hill, just to wander around
hero's square and nearby sights
house of terror (heavy stuff)

must drink:
unicum (like jagermeister but not sweet. very intense)
palinka (strong fruit brandies)
if you like wine, don't miss Dobolo. owner speaks english and is very cordial. great times to be had.
Budapest WINE Merchants and Bar - DOBLO

avoid:
buda cave tour on castle hill (ripoff)
statue park (not nearly as cool as it sounds)

be cautious of bars and clubs in heavy tourist areas, especially if unnaturally attractive young women start giving you lots of attention. if you fall for it, you'll find yourself facing a several hundred pound bill and several burly men who will encourage you to pay it :)

i'm actually off to Transylvania next week for some hiking, otherwise i'd offer to meet up for a pint :D

Ah, I understand what you meant now, but I seriously lol'd at this small bit:

It is claimed that the establishments on the list have grossly overcharged visitors and, in some cases, made threats of physical violence when customers refused to pay charges. Some have been consistently fingered by the Embassy for several years as problematic, according to an official release
Thanks for all of the information, you've been immensely helpful!

Well, today was the first day I drove a real race car on a race track, and I kicked ass. I did way better than anyone expected. Everyone was so proud, and it was awesome to drive it. The car is a Formula Ford with a Mitsubishi engine.
