My Zune battery died on me last night and I forgot to charge it and the CD in my car CD player was scratched beyond playability so I was forced to listen to the radio today :/ Three Nickelback songs were played in a row... I felt like committing genocide after wards...

I'm sorry for your loss - my flatmate accidentally broke the screen on his. I just bought the 160 GB classic a couple of weeks ago... aside from a bit of menu lag I find it great. iTunes on the other hand is completely retarded. I'm bemused that Apple is renowned for having good UI when some of its products have gaping design flaws. My main gripe with iTunes in that respect is the unanchored shift-select... if you have multiple songs selected, pressing up while holding shift should deselect the bottom one, not select another one at the top. That makes no sense.

I know how you feel. Fear of jeopardising my track record of successfully completing projects ahead of schedule is what keeps me working overtime even though I don't need to.

Fear of failure can be beneficial to an extent but if it truly terrifies you, you're only setting yourself up to inevitably be shattered at some stage in your life. I think it's better to see failure as being unnecessary rather than something to be feared.

Yeah, that sounds sound but it's the way I'm wired. It's just one of a host of interrelated issues which need to start being addressed and I think there's only a very limited amount you can do to alleviate your own psychological issues with logic and autosuggestion, unfortunately. So, I think I definitely need to get off my ass and seek professional advice/help before I implode.

The human psyche is a fascinatingly complicated thing though. What I'm most amazed at is that it can cause actual physical manifestations, like pain or a rash and even though you know exactly what's causing it you can't control it. It's kinda weird when you think about it, it's like there's a separate entity inside your mind which controls certain functions without your knowledge or control.

Yes, I think we'll have plenty to talk about at the doctor's office.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
