It is my sincerest hope that there are no terror attacks in Europe in 2016, but prudence compels me to warn my students of the risk.

Statistically speaking, you should probably try to convince your students to avoid musicians at all costs because of how closely linked they are to drug use. Don't want your students coming to class high, after all.

Zhanteimi 12-28-2015 12:01 AM

Okay. See ya, guys.

ftfy I wouldn't say it's "communication" per se, which would entail an exchange of ideas. It's more like derision. (Sorry I had to be the one to tell you that.:()

I think DWV is still in New Jersey, so he should be safe for the moment.

We already exchanged ideas. It didn't work, so we switched to mockery. Try to keep up, Neap.

RoxyRollah 12-28-2015 02:07 AM

I already said this if he knows about Europe" burning " its not a random attack....

Its almost like saying Roxy don't go move to Virginia they'll make you pick cotten.

I'm not sure of NHM stance on the 1490 Ch'ing-yang event, whether they recognize it or not.

In my opinion, I see that Alan W. Harris is making an apple to orange comparison. He is using probability of a future event i.e. asteroid colliding with Earth and comparing that to odds based on stats of actual historical events. Since 1970 there have been 4,000 deaths do to terrorism, compared to zero deaths from asteroids.

^ Haha! Thank you for that correction Neapolitan ! They say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and you´ve demonstrated how a lazy piece of click and paste "investigation" may be worthless. I´m shocked and disappointed that something I read on a website turns out to be misleading :(

PS. I´ve never heard of a National History Museum - I wonder if you meant the Natural History Museum. That´s housed in one of London´s most beautiful buildings and returning to topic, is a place I´d recommend to Exo.

I ain't f*cking scared of no terrorists. The best defense against terrorism is to tell it to go f*ck itself. When that assh*le shot up that movie theater in Colorado, I went out and saw a movie. It was packed. America is tough.

You're scared. I can't argue with your point, but can we at least call a spade a spade? You're scared of dying because you think you're statistically more likely too. Don't say you're not scared.

Yes, but to be fair, only one person at a time can use it. You should see the queues!

It's very unlikely. I would purposely (and foolishly) seek out terrorist attacks when I lived in Jerusalem and am alive to tell the tale. I'd hear about an attack, at the Al-Aqsa Mosque say, and go rushing to the scene against a tide of people fleeing the area. Did that one time and found myself caught between a group of Israeli Defence Force soldiers firing live rounds and a Palestinian group of stone throwers. Had to crawl to safety under a barrage of stones and bullets. Stupid thing to do in hindsight, but thrilling, and an unusual experience.

If someone wants to go to Europe or the Middle East or the scene of a terrorist attack then they should. Life is for living.

I haven't seen following this thread (or much of anything else) so forgive me if I'm completely off the topic, but assuming this is still in the works I have within the past couple weeks moved back to PDX (or environs therein) and would love nothing more than hooking up with any or all those within a MAX ride of this proposed hootenanny.

I'm flying to Europe out of San Fran. Honestly, we'll see if I take the ride up to Portland still. We'd have to rent a car and I don't know how much money I'll have saved up. If I do end up doing that, I'll let you know.

Paul Smeenus 01-01-2016 02:33 PM

Portland does have high plane fares (so I've heard, idk personally) but some frequent flyers I know say flights out of SeaTac are more reasonable fwiw

It'd be fun to hang, jus' sayin...

So they're able to drill as well? That's pretty versatile.

Exo 03-18-2016 02:31 PM

So here's an update.

It's March 8th. I leave for Colorado and the first part of my trip on April 7th. That's like three weeks guys. Having said this, I will be a bit absent from the forums in the aforementioned three weeks due to having to move out of my apartment and preparing for my trip. I've got all the plane tickets purchased, passport, rail pass, and most of my travel stuff save for a bit of clothes and items.

I am close. Very close. I won't be updating too much due to me not bringing my laptop but I will have a tablet to touch base every so often. I'll try to share any pictures I take on my tablet but most will be taken on my SLR and shared when I get home. I should be meeting up with Bob and Goofle along my trip so you may see some drunken debauchery pics from those encounters.

That's pretty much it.

Paul Smeenus 03-18-2016 02:58 PM

Fine then. Don't come to Portland. See if I care. Hrmph.
