wow, i lived in a country usually stricken with drought, and lived like 3 hours from the desert and i've never heard of that before!!
is phoenix a dry place?

SATCHMO 07-21-2005 02:44 PM

I was in Flagstaff 4 years ago and this was a huge problem at that time. I think a lot of it is alcohol consumption combined with prolonged exposure to the heat. There were groups on every other block passing out water bottles. Can't say I didn't take advantage of that. Technically I was homeless at the time.

from what ive read 13 have been homeless, the other 5 were elderly people with no air conditioning in their house. The body they found last night was in a house that was over 107 degrees inside. i also just read that in addition to the 18, are another 13 that have died trying to get through the desert into phx from mexico, but for some reason they dont add them in with the rest. so that would bring the total up to 31!!

Tucker- "Ya-Wait... 23 degrees... thats freezing."
Church- "Celsius Tucker."
Tucker- "Aw-Dude, Celsius sucks."

But seriously... I've been to Phoenix... it is rather hot there... and thats coming from a Texan.

107 Fahrenheit must be at least 48 Celsius.

I'm too lazy to do the math conversion.
