Could I be the only one?

Now I know this is going to elicit a few "Reallys?" but am I the only person left in the world who has never owned a cell phone?

DeadChannel 07-24-2015 07:18 AM

No, and you're probably not the first to post about it on the internet either.

Cheese 07-24-2015 07:24 AM

Probably not. It just intrigued me from the comments mates make all the time.

I don't own a cell phone. I have a laptop. I used to own a Sony Vaio desktop. But I ripped it apart, so that this guy I knew could turn it into a gaming computer. Or, as I like to call them, confusers. But that's just me. I enjoyed that computer for a long time. I had at least 24 to 27 PC games on that comp at any given time. That was years ago. That computer has long since crashed. It's in bits and pieces now, in my bedroom. All the hardware is extremely outdated. Though a lot of the hardware might actually still be useable to some extent, I don't think it's worth it. I have this Acer laptop now. It'll work, for the time being. If I get a cell phone, it'll just be basic. Talk, text and the Internet is fine, if I can get a good monthly plan. I don't need Super Mario Brothers 50 on my cell phone. I'll just keep it basic.

That must be awkward to hold up to your ear.

Overcast 07-24-2015 07:46 AM

I've never had a phone, so no.

Best thing about my phone is the music apps. I rarely use it for anything else.

Cell phone is basically just another excuse to have another bill. You aren't missing much honestly.

Several mates have mentioned how they envy me for not having one. Is it really so difficult to go through life without the need for one?

I basically use it only and have no land line. I'm assuming you have a land line? Imagine going through life without a landline.

It's just weird you don't have one.

it's most important function it's that in case of an emergency you can contact anyone or anyone can contact you at any given moment, that's the most logical reason to own a cell phone the rest of its features are just a bonus.

Imagine this, you're in a car accident and you are alright but you severely injured the person that you crashed into.

by some coincidence the dude you crashed into doesn't have a cell phone, cause who needs them, right? All the cars are passing by too fast and no one stops to help you and there are no phone booths around cause lets face it, phone booths practically don't exist anymore, what do you do?

John Wilkes Booth 07-24-2015 09:02 PM

no.. i'm pretty sure there are some cannibal tribes in papua new guinea that also don't have cell phones

John Wilkes Booth 07-24-2015 09:08 PM

honestly tho with the prices the way they are today im not sure what good reason there is not to have a cell phone.. the only person i know who doesn't have some kind of smartphone is literally paranoid that the govt will use it to track him down, and even he has a flip phone

you can get a smartphone for 30 dollars

45 dollars a month for unlimited everything, prepaid with no strings, including data

unless you just have no job/money and never speak to girls i can't imagine why that wouldn't be worth it

Frownland 07-24-2015 09:38 PM

I think he's a drug dealer. He probably just doesn't have flipphone right now.

Of course car crashes never happened before the advent of cellphones.
