usually ill check something out if its on a decent label, chances are that will give me a pretty good idea of the style of the band. I also look through other bands "thanks" list on the albums. If a band I like thank another band on their albums, im more likely to take a chance and give them a listen.

i DONT find new bands. all new bands are terrible. they suck.
jk, i usually check my local music store for gigs around the area, or i check the labels that i like and see if they signed anyone new. |
Read kerrang, watch music tv...

I usually hear most new music on the radio, but it is more difficult now since the best radio station in the UK (Radio 1) lost their greatest DJ for new music (John Peel RIP) but Steve Lamaq, Huw Stevens and Zane Lowe still play a lot of good new music, also you can listen to their shows online (www.bbc.co.uk/radio1).

Read NME, should give you some sort of idea of new bands and what type of genre they are...then see if they have a site, or use www.radioblogclub.com to search them up. If all else fails, Zane Lowe never lets me down...

from the reviews of albums in my daily paper and from nme.com...maybe amazon ( when you go searching for similar stuff to something )...oh and i've discovered a couple of bands on this forum...

I read through magazines (Outburn, Decible, etc.) and see what the reviewers say or the ad's for new cd's. I also keep 20+ label sites bookmarked and check regularly for new bands they signed or summat. But mostly its word of mouth or shows that turn me on to new stuff.
