I like to make you suffer so the pain is worth it.
Dearly Beloved/Summertime is John Coletrane's free jazz song from Sun Ship done in the style of a raga. I used a drone tuning and did the song in the middle of the day during the Spring when it was warm and I found a shady spot under some trees (the time of day is important to a raga). It's also important to note that this was almost entirely improvised. Distant Relative of Nihilism is done on a guitar prepared with a found piece of metal and tuned to a chord that I liked. Then I wrote out seventy five rhythms in class and progressed through them all while improvising the melodies.
