Research is unnecessary when you have been brought up on original ST and seen every episode at least ten times. I can confidently bet all three of my cats' lives on this never having been uttered by Captain Kirk. Usually he just said "One to beam up", "Energise" or "Beam up the landing party".

^ Wow! All I've done is watch them on tv - though I did also see their movie about going back to "present day" San Diego(?) to find a whale or something. It has some great scenes of dry comedy.

Yeah, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home also known as "Kirk and Spock save the whales. Oh, and Scotty helps too!" I featured it as the last of four ST movies during "Star Trek Month" in The Couch Potato in March I think it was.

i know im the minority on this one but i don't see what's so cool about Star Trek or Star wars for that matter.

Things that never happened:-
Strictly speaking, David Livingstone didn't discover the Victoria Falls. The local Africans had known it was there all the time. When they took him to see Mosi-oa-Tunya ("the smoke that thunders"), he just renamed it and spread its fame elsewhere. To my mind, that's not discovering in the true sense, the way Madam Curie discovered radium.

Actually that part is not in the song.

He does get a verse where he says Borinquen (Puerto Rico) is the daughter of the Sun and the sea.

Sh*t is sung from his perspective too, we know he said that for real.
