A fake genre of metal.

Subgenres are based off of the characteristics of the music; Death Metal is about death and is made up of technical guitar playing and fast blast beat drumming (most of the time), for example.

Crossovers are fusions between two different genres. In the case of nu-metal, it's a fusion of metal, industrial, hip hop, and rap.

So, in subgenres, metal remains pure and is just transformed. While in crossovers, it is tainted.

In other words; DEATH TO FALSE METAL!

I think the idea of false metal and true metal is the most retarded thing ever created. What you are saying is that metal bands should not be creative and that they should stick to a more metal sound. I mean WTH is true metal?

Like nu-metal is anymore creative than real metal? The only innovation nu-metal has is where to put what power chord where, and when to palm mute.

I like some nu-metal bands. Hell, my favorite band is nu-metal, but they don't even compare to real metal bands like Death, Opeth, Kreator, Venom-- I could go on.

If you like simple catchy music, then ignore what I'm saying and listen to it. I'm just like you; I look for something in music that appeals to me. We're just looking for different things.

Not quite. Nu-metal is metal mixed with urban music which would include hip-hop, rap, pop, turntablism, and a few others. However, industrial simply doesn't fit that description unless you're willing to call Red Harvest a nu-metal band, and that would be laughable.

Every kind of metal took the same amount of creativity to be created. Not every genre has the same amount of technicality involved.

I don't really listen to any nu-metal except for its roots like RATM, Faith No More, etc. But you still haven't answered my question. What determines whether something is true metal or fake metal?
