Learn to brew your own. It's fairly easy to do once you have the materials/knowledge. Then you can just brew your own stash. And as long as you don't distribute it, there's nothing illegal about it. No harm, no foul.

Why am I not surprised that the Texas redneck is encouraging me to make my own moonshine. Not that it's not temping TBH.

Correct. Moonshine is more of a whiskey than anything, if we really wanted to classify it. Brewing your own beer is incredibly easy. I know a guy who has his own rig. It's actually cheaper to buy the supplies and brew your own. Plus you can experiment with different flavors to create something truly unique.
