Chula Vista

The chick in my avatar. Next Thursday will mark 32 official years but we've been together for 35. She has been through hell and back - and not just for being with me.

- when she was 16 her Dad burned to death with his best friend in his small airplane after it clipped some wires and crashed while trying to return home during a storm.

- a year later her best friend Jane Gill was struck and killed by a drunk driver in front of her eyes during an outdoor barbecue.

- a couple of years later her step dad dropped dead of a heart attack one night during dinner.

- her brother died after battling AIDS 25 years ago.

- her sister died of cancer 20 years ago after a long 7 year fight. She lived her last 3 months with us under hospice care.

- spent all of last year setting her dementia saddled mom up in a nursing home back east.

J.H.C., the girl is a saint.
