When you say effectiveness do you mean how much it will actually improve your career or how good the procedure is?

I guess it's different for everyone but this picture accurately reflects the effects I have noticed from the kid I work with and my cousin's wife (she's a pretty tan skinned Colombian and you would never know where she had the tat).

Now I'm glad I don't have a tat.

Thanks for the cheer up!

No idea why people are raggin' on you so hard, especially on a music forum that is more apt to attract members who are interested in the arts and/or appreciate different stylistic influences from more creative lifestyles, i.e., musicians in bands, not typically known for their tattoo subtlety.

my coworker has a similar looking tattoo

i can understand why it bothers you.. probably draws a lot of attention, both positive and negative

that's why i never get tattoos... cause i'm almost certain that anything i think is cool enough to get tattooed on my body at one point in time is probably going to send bad messages to people about myself and eventually even the tattoo itself will seem stupid as **** to me. and even if i did like it, employers might hold it against me if its visible when wearing normal work clothes. just a combination of potential cons and the permanence of it drives me away from getting a tattoo. plus it seems like everybody and their mother gets one these days. so it's almost more unique not to get one really

but if i was going to, i dunno what i would possibly get tattooed. i wouldn't do a girls name or a phrase or anything like that. just seems silly. i'm pretty partial to symbols to be honest. especially ideologically charged symbols.. like the swastika looks pretty amazing to me. if it didn't get you labeled a nazi and ostracized from all non-nazi society, a swastika tattoo might appeal to me. i just think it looks cool. but people have a hard time seeing it without having ww2 flashbacks so its not appropriate. the sickle and star is pretty badass as well, but the swastika is better. chinese writing is also cool.

on a somewhat related note i've been learning some chinese symbols as a hobby cause i see them all day at work and they caught my eye, and the other day i saw a chick with a chinese tattoo on her neck and i knew what the symbol meant. was a pretty cool feeling. it meant 'learn.'

I'm very pleased that after careful consideration you have decided against this course of action.

Chula, prepare your underwear.

For every square inch of ink there is, I have said "bro" to someone's mother.
Like the top section of it. You shoulda stopped a few inches above your elbow IMO.

This is why you can't have nice things.

I like it but at the same time understand the need to possibly keep something like that concealed for business purposes. On the hand I couldn't give a rats ass if a tat offended some random person on the internet or some random individual acting out his/ her own little little tattoo policeman fantasies.

Nobody's business but your own obviously.

You'd think that but in my experience this place is the total opposite.
Most people in this place are worse than sheep, desperate to say the right thing to fit in.
