I've kind of avoided one thread in the lounge for a while, but now that I have something of a revived interest in it I see that it has gone from 3 to 11 pages. What should I do? Should I scroll through the pages that I missed or will I waste my time because some members didn't get along and started a stupid shitstorm for no reason? Generally I wouldn't ask that question off the bat, but I've seen Vanilla, Trollheart, Oriphiel, and Soulflower have all posted in said thread, so it's a question of necessity at this point.

Do I skip all of the posts and just make a post hinting that I haven't read a bit of what these motherfuckers have said, so should I try to revive the thread by saying something totally unrelated to the discussion before it? Or would it be better for my persona if I commented on something from the last two pages (which is presumably just more bullshit someone thought was offensive discussing whether or not what they read was indeed offensive with someone who was clearly not offended by said post; I haven't read the thread, I'm just making an assumption here given the current climate here on MB) with something really douchey and offensive? Should I carry on ignoring the thread?

Sometimes I feel like I'm carrying on too much with questions in a given thread. How many questions per post is acceptable? Is five cool? I think I've exceeded that but I'm not sure yet. Not that this thread is about me or anything, but how many problems should I solve from other members posted in this thread before I can consider myself a decent human being? I figured that it would be five, since I haven't solved anyone's problems yet and I'd rather not be considered a good person as far as the community of MB goes (I mean imagine if you were the hero of infidels, that's a worse existence than being an infidel in itself) and I'd rather not have other people slap the saviour label on me. But are these questions worth asking? That's all I really want to know.

Can you help?

What is your diet like? Try eating 100% healthy, whole foods for one week and see how you feel. I'm talking hardcore whole tomatoes, salads, light meats, fat-free/low-fat yogurt, etc. I always feel better, instantaneously when I eat healthy. It's really too bad that I'm a pizza addict.

It's usually best to ignore everything that isn't in direct relation to your dreams and aspirations. Chances are half of those prior posts are naysayers trying to bring you down, and hell they might even have a picture of your cat with a ransom note, but you keep trudging on.

Well that'd be bitchy. I suggest that instead you keep aiming for the top, man. The world is your oyster, man.

Well... they deserve it for what they did to your cat.

No, no, it's best to continue asking what you should do in case you're confused that day.

I'd say ten is far.

No five is too few. And I hope you never accomplish any of your dreams for thinking it's acceptable.

None. Decent human beings mind their own ****ing business, and by the way I shot your cat for failing to ask ten questions.

No question you could possibly conceive is worth anyone spending any time whatsoever.

Oh! Question number ten! Sure, chap. Anything you need, let me know. The world is your oyster, buddy.

I usually invest in a good weather radio in trying times like this.

I'm down with DwnWthVwls on this. I usually tend to keep my Internet postings separate from uber-personal threads like this because I don't like getting involved in others' personal problems, even if I want to tell someone to stop engaging in self-destructive behavior. It's not my place, and what is it really going to do anyway unless that person takes direct action to fix his/her problems? To even try to help Frownland like I did is causing me anxiety. If you're only recourse is strangers online, something isn't balanced in your personal life, and I don't think that's healthy. It's kind of like a doctor/patient relationship where you have to maintain a separation of interests. The sentiment was relayed earlier in the thread, but you have to look within yourself for solace. You can write that off as a cliche, but then what happens? Nothing, unless you make whatever it is you want to happen, happen.

I support gay marriage and encourage more lesbians to make out in public to show their support. Only the hot ones though.

That's very sexist. What about the gay men?
Obviously I, too, am only referring to the hot ones.

Anyone is welcome to support, even the straightees but it has to be with the same sex, and as we agreed they have to be hot! No fuglies in this movement.

For the most part, I agree with you, just wanted to point out that there are times when internet people can be just as helpful as real life people.

Btw, I just now saw this. I love you, you are not a stranger to me.

Something I want to say, (and I am not trying to have a debate, or argue for hours.)

This place is home for a lot of members, and though we are all doing thing whatever it is we do all day, we still stop in here and waste a significant amount of our time. So, relationships form, bonds form, people meet each other and it becomes very real. I detest it when I hear people say **** in a negative way about this place in regards to that. Because if this place isn't a safe space where you are among friends, like minded people, and hopefully people who are like family to you, then you are doing this wrong. And I am sorry for you. Really I am. I wouldn't trade the folks I have met here irl, or virtual for anything in this world. You are all endearing in your own way, and there are enough personalities, (some harsher then others) that you can't possibly come here and not make at least one friend. (A real friend).
