Top 40 Threads Created By The Batlord
I was just trolling through the list of all the threads I'd created over the years, and I was struck by just how many awesome ones there were, so I'm going to rank the best of them.
Honorable Mention: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...ises-wars.html: This thread sadly never took off, but as a parody it still deserves respect. 40.) http://www.musicbanter.com/introduct...-skeletor.html: Not a great thread on its own, but it introduced Music Banter to the person who would become its most illustrious member. Heh heh. Member. 39.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...ead-title.html An amusing gaff on my part, but one that's purpose was needed. 38.) http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...ord-wonky.html: Nothing special about this thread, but its title makes me laugh. 37.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...-axl-rose.html: **** Axl Rose. 36.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...gles-tube.html: One day Urban bitched about all the pointless threads being made, and mentioned something about "Next somebody will make a thread about your favorite colour Pringles can", and so this almost immediately locked thread was born. Trolling at its finest. 35.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...ok-gayest.html: It's a thread about Rob Halford. What other reason does it need to be on this list. 34.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...ping-thor.html: ****ing Vikings, dude. If anyone has posted a thread which so glorifies their awesomeness then I would like to see it. 33.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...votes-com.html A short-lived thread, but one that struck a scathing blow to the current political system. Seriously though, if anyone wants to pay me to vote a certain way, I'm willing to negotiate. 32.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...ing-rules.html: I haven't given this thread nearly as much of my time and effort as it deserves, but its potential for true greatness is indisputable. 31.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...kicks-ass.html: Dear god, but I have been making some awesome threads recently. I am only too happy to pay my respects to the greatest country on Earth that is not America or Nazi Germany. 30.) http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...-fidelity.html The idea behind this thread was inspired. Too bad I let it die. One day though, I will resurrect it. 29.) http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...all-music.html: Really just an excuse to write about Varg Vikernes, but I think that's a good enough reason to include this thread. 28.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...tates-net.html: This thread is perhaps too new for its possible legacy to be gauged, but as a way to fully exploit my current Hitler avatar it is inspired. I also hope to use it to document the developing glory of my new nation. 27.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...god-metal.html: This isn't a thread which has inspired much discussion, but I expected that. I am, however, proud to have given tribute to a metal god who deserves far more recognition than he has ever received. I'd like to think that this thread might go some way to making up for the injustice of his relative obscurity. 26.) http://www.musicbanter.com/media/809...rone-them.html: Let it not be said that I am a one-dimensional clown. Sometimes I can show a surprising amount of emotional depth. Respect where it's due. 25.) http://www.musicbanter.com/prog-psyc...over-prog.html: I haven't given this thread as much attention as perhaps I should, but it is evidence of my dedication to expanding my musical knowledge. I mean, I actually listened to Marillion. I should get a ****ing medal for that alone. And I also discovered that Rush isn't ****, as I had once thought. 24.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...wpnfire-4.html: This thread would be higher in the list had it actually led to a less ****ty username for Wpnfire, but alas, he chose one even ****tier, before reverting to his less ****ty one. 23.) http://www.musicbanter.com/introduct...ic-banter.html: For those who remember the scandal surrounding the unearthing of Rezz's intro thread, this will make sense. Otherwise, piss off. 22.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...-everyday.html: A new thread, but it's taken off to an extent that it is a testament to my comedic brilliance. Also, sandwiches. 21.) http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...-internet.html: Move ever forward. 'Tis my motto. For a time, this thread documented my continuing evolution as an intellectual, and I am proud to say that I have lived up to the standard which I set for myself, as I am crushing both of my classes like empty soda cans. 20.) http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/70...our-dream.html: An inspirational thread that allowed the forum to express their most heartfelt desires for the future, this thread should bring a tear to the eye of anyone who has ever wished for something deep inside their soul. 19.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...ll-boring.html Dear god, they really are. 18.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...-not-work.html: I am conflicted about this entry: much of the content is not my own -- and therefore inferior -- but its longevity (over 800 pages) speaks volumes about my importance to this site. 17.) http://www.musicbanter.com/sport-rec...-patriots.html: **** the New England Patriots. **** Tom Brady. **** Boston. And **** Chula. 16.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...ing-rules.html: Let it not be said that musical taste is stagnant. For many years I looked down upon this genre, but with my open-mindedness and dedication to in-depth writing about important musical issues, I have crafted thread superior to any other metalcore thread. 15.) http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...um-events.html: This thread didn't produce quite the compendium of awesomeness which I had hoped, but it did partially result in my sig, which will win an MB Award this year if there is any justice. 14.) http://www.musicbanter.com/media/787...book-club.html: This thread died a sadly quick death, but it was the seed from which sprung my comic book journal, and so its historical relevance deserves to be noted. 10-13.) http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/81...y-yay-nay.html / http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...on-thread.html / http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...ng-thread.html / http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/80...bout-exo_.html: I don't remember who started it, but it was definitely I who escalated the trend of pointless, circle jerk threads about random members. I am very proud of this. 9.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...roll-rezz.html: A masterwork of light-hearted trolling. This was back in the heyday when such luminaries as butthead, Rezz, and myself laid waste to this site as conquering heroes in the Douchebag Crusades. I worry that such an era will never return. 8.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...y-history.html: The true content of this thread is the work of Unknown Soldier, but the amount of work I put into collecting every god damn single entry link and organizing them deserves some recognition. All credit to Unknown Soldier for giving us a journal worthy of my valuable time. 7.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...hould-too.html: One of many quasi-journals which I started out of a desire to cover a topic in much the same way as a journal, but without having to deal with moderator queues. Some of the best music on Earth is enshrined within, and it is in your best interest to avail yourself of my considerable expertise by reading every single post. 6.) http://www.musicbanter.com/current-e...holocaust.html: Some people like to hide behind easy answers in the face of difficult questions, and this thread forced people to take a hard look at what they truly valued. This and JWB's bestiality thread (which were both active at the same time, if I remember correctly) shook this forum down to its very foundations, inciting controversies that still resonate today. 5.) http://www.musicbanter.com/games-lis...countries.html: Believe it or not, but I was actually somewhat more reserved on this site than I am now. It was a gradual change as I became more confident in my awesomeness, and if my memory serves me correctly, this thread was a major step in my development into the lovable we all know and love. It's also both brilliant and as true today as it was the day it was posted. 4.) http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...lks-about.html: When I decided to start a less restrictive journal than my first (whose placement is understandably higher than this one) this was the result. Proof of my eclectic musical taste and willingness to step outside of my comfort zone, this journal was simply inspired. 3.) http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...-oblivion.html: Clearly the most important non-musical journal on this site, and the one which covers the most important non-musical topic as well. My insightful reviews and articles are proof of my versatility and mastery of the art having opinions about stuff. 2.) http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...-division.html: Many attempts have been made over the past few years to resurrect the glory days of the metal community that existed around the time I first joined, but all have met with varying degrees of failure. Even if I were to pretend to be modest, this thread is the first since to achieve such a feet to any real extent. And since it will last for well over a year, it is hopeful that this thread's importance shall continue for quite a while into the future. Sometimes, I even impress myself. 1.) http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...t-schemes.html: The obvious numero uno Batlord thread. This is the quintessential distillation of everything that makes me great, celebrates the most glorious form of music in a way that only I am capable of, and hosts the greatest literary masterpiece that has ever been written. One day, I shall finish it. One day.
