Awww channeling our inner Neapolitan, are we?

Black Francis 03-24-2015 06:30 AM

Can't i have an original thought?

Plankton 03-24-2015 06:47 AM

I'm a man of few words.

Any questions?

Overcast 03-24-2015 06:51 AM

I'm a quiet and reserved person.

Be thankful you dont have a high pitched bitch voice.

I go with the "I'll say whatever the **** I want however the **** I want" approach. If people I meet get offended, that's their fault, not mine.

Sounds a little heartless.

To a degree though, Ki is kinda right. There are an unreasonable amount of hyper-sensitive people out there that really need to quit their whining and change their pamper.

But on the other hand one's right to 'freedom of speech" doesn't extend to you yelling fire in a crowed movie theater.

On a side note as well, freedom of speech for example isn't protected because it's for the common good, it's protected for those that actually hold offensive opinions.

Chula Vista 03-24-2015 11:10 AM

If I'm in a movie theater I'll just about whisper. If I'm in a quiet restaurant I'll talk quietly. I make a point not to be the loudmouth. I hate that dick (and there's always one) who feels he has to be the loudest in the room.

Last time I was at the airport waiting to board a plane I was sitting and around me were people quietly using their cell phones or reading or having casual conversation. Over walks a suit type talking ridiculously loud into his blue tooth completely oblivious to those around him. I hate that guy.

RoxyRollah 03-24-2015 11:14 AM

So does everyone else. I guarantee that he wasn't texting anyone. He just likes to hear himself talk.

^ Says the girl who got her panties in a bunch when i called Soulflower black. :p:

If we really want to skip the bullsh*t here, this forum in particular more about the character not the context.

No one will mind KI saying that because we know he's not actually a Dick and Batlord literally comes up with the worst sh*t ive ever heard any human being say yet we all luv him cause he's.. well.. the Batlord.

but let a noob try that sh*t and see how everybody goes "Whoa, too far man"

No you called her blacker then black or something that might be misconstrued by Soulflower. You seem to forget that most of the posters here are white. (Minus like uh you, Franco, Neff, Drew, Dj and myself.) I was just trying to save you a tongue lashing . I could really care less mang, I just saw it as slightly pushing the limits of what Jen might find acceptable. Only because she sometimes feels like a fish outta water here. But then again she and I have had lengthy discussions about this place being racist or not.

RoxyRollah 03-24-2015 11:27 AM

I love the Batlord solely for his mac & cheese and day old Marlboro breath... I just want that to be known.

Black Francis 03-24-2015 11:37 AM

Those songs were pretty good.

I know Roxy. no worries.

I've been told I'm commanding and a little intimidating when people don't know me, but I'm not loud and don't try to be. Too many obnoxious opinionated folk in my family. I just went with 'other'. I don't talk much, even with people I know, unless its less than four people. I'm usually really bored and have nothing to contribute due to it being boring and not wanting to participate. People listen when I do though, never had to try hard to be heard.

I'm already bored of myself for saying that.

Welcome to sludge metal.

Too bad there aren't any videos from Acid Bath's first album on Youtube, as it's pretty much the best sludge metal album ever, but their second is fantastic as well. Go find a download for When the Kite String Pops right now.

Best thing I can find for the debut are a couple decent-quality live clips. Why the singer's hand is in his pants, I have no idea. Gonna go listen to that album now.

ribbons 03-24-2015 01:03 PM

Very soft spoken but quick to laugh. I hate being the center of attention. For a long time I would actually have a mini-anxiety attack seeing my name on a birthday cake (unbeknownst to others), or signing my name in the presence of other people. Calling Dr. Freud!

Isbjørn 03-24-2015 02:53 PM

I don't like being the center of attention alone (even though I can handle it just fine), but if I have someone to "lean on", I love it. I've also become less and less introverted and more willing to talk to new people lately, and I'm not overthinking conversation as much as I used to, so I'd say I'm doing pretty good. I'm starting upper secondary school soon, and having social skills like these will probably benefit me greatly.

Aww, that's kinda sweet and amusing about your name-on-a-cake mini-anxiety attacks that you used to have! I'm glad you fought through that, ELIZABETH.

I would like seeing my name on a cake. I don't mind being a center of attention and sometimes quite like it. When I'm in a social group, I like to talk to express my view; I don't hold back. I also like trying to play off people's conversation topics in attempts to amuse them and take the topic in directions that they seem to like.

When I'm in a group of people in a meeting or in a social situation, I generally am the first person to talk, such as by making introductions to ensure everyone knows everyone and to start the conversation rolling. I get a little impatient when people seem reticent to talk and so I jump in quickly. The main way I've been described by people who know me is: "She takes the initiative."

I'm rarely LOUD, though. I think of myself rather as "vivacious." :)

However, I am generally quite nervous about public speaking when it concerns a contentious topic, but the importance of a cause motivates me to do it, making me brave. I don't like conflict because it upsets me emotionally, and so I try to figure out ways to resolve disagreements without emotional upheaval.

We're different here, because I routinely initiate conversations with people I don't know. I strike up conversations with people in the grocery store, people on the street, people in busses, people sitting at tables. I'm not at all shy with strangers. I like them!

I've been trying to force myself to do this too. I've met a lot of interesting people I never would have thought very much of just by sayin hey. It's pretty crazy what you can find out if you just give people a chance sometimes.

HellCell 03-28-2015 10:29 PM

RoxyRollah 03-29-2015 05:03 AM

^ Bro the amount of us on this board with social ineptitude, anxiety issues, and loner archetype personalities is almost hysterical. You aren't the only one. This is the internet the freedom to be alone and still communicate with those just as awkward as you, if not more so. Just don't claim you are eccentric unless you are filthy fucking rich. Because if you are poor and claim that we know it's a lie. If your poor you are just bat **** crazy.
