need help...
 

im in a killswitch/a7x influenced band that desperately needs a name. anyone got any suggestions. some of our lyrics are in the song writing forum if you need those as a reference.

getting names from other people really isnt a good idea, IMO... i think if you want a good name, you should sit down and think if what your songs are about and how you want to be percieved and then bounce ideas off each other... sorry if im not much help but thats just what i think :)

actually that makes perfect sense and we tried that.....and hey...im now here, doing this..so...

well.... personally i think stick at it and then youll find one.... but im sure others will give some good suggestions....

Yeah... the name of your band will come to you... But just for suggetions.... how about Davros? Tribute to the most hilarious evil....uh.. being ever to be created...

i hope this doesn't happen to you but so many have come on the site and made threads like this have been taunted and teased, plus with such a cool username it shouldn't be hard for you. i can suggest just opening a dictionary and just finding good interesting words, if you wanna...sometimes you find just the word or words you're looking for!

im not worried at all about being ridiculed for this..hell...these are people that i dont even know. i just wanted to know if they had any good suggestions.

ive thought up names as well from just combining things that ive heard during the day.... example = The Tissue Cups :)

my first band when I was 14 or 15, me and my bassist was in the grocery store and we heard two guys talking and one of them said, "man, dont do that, thats bad karma" right then and there we knew that was the name of our band "Bad Karma" looking back, i think its kinda lame, and ive seen another band with that name, but my point is, just look around, theres band names everywhere just waiting to be discovered.

Get a dictionary, thesurus, and your thinking cap. Open up two browser windows:

If you have a particular idea (or a couple ideas) in your head that sums up your band as a whole, then look it up in the thesurus. If you don't have one, peruse a dictionary till you find one, then look it up in the thesurus as well. That will give you some alternate words that you probably wouldn't have thought of. Then once you have some words you can try to make some combinations. This is usually how I figure out song names, but I'm sure it will work for a band name as well.

Once you have a band name that everyone likes, look it up on those two sites I listed above. If your name isan't taken, register it at The Band Register and you are on your way!

ha...cuz if we used that...it would be a definite guarantee that we WOULDNT get sued by two bands.
