The only thing I'll say about this is that I don't believe you should do something publicly of this nature without discussing it with the would-be beneficiary. In other words, did you talk to Mondo about this before doing it? Because otherwise it can come across as a) embarrassing and b) condescending, neither of which I'm sure you intended. But that could be the outcome.

Many people do not like to be seen as a charity case, regardless of their circumstances.

That said, I do worry for, and like, the guy, but is this the way he wants to be seen, and treated? If so, that's fine but otherwise I think it could be a bad idea and send the wrong message.

Just a thought.
