Default 'Thomas Clayton' or 'Clayton' for Solo Project?

Hi All,

I'm ready to release a CD and I'm debating whether to use:

- My first/middle names ('Thomas Clayton')

- or just my middle name ('Clayton').

Genre is rock. Similar style of Radiohead an U2. Of these two, what the best choice? Need help deciding...

Thanks!
TCW

Free Beer is a good choice.

Just don't call yourself 999 Megabytes. You'll never get a gig.

Stick with "TCW". It's more mysterious.

My 'every day' name is Tom Woods, but figured that was not unique/catchy enough.

Your new name is Big Harp Bailey. Problem solved!

Alright, seriously, I'd put on a dapper suit, grab a parlor guitar, and go with T. Clayton Woods.

Well, 'Bob Dylan' and 'Tom Petty' did pretty good.

Names mean absolutely nothing. Just pick whatever sounds the best to you. Stop worrying about the wrapper and start focusing on the delicious chocolate that goes inside of it. As long as you give people what they want, you could call yourself "The Butthole Surfers" and nobody would care.

Start a Rockabilly/Surf band and call yourselves "Woody and the Tom Cats."
