ya, i know it happends way too much. Im sure we have all seen it happend where we end up having to wade through 20 posts of how so and sos blah blah blah before someone gets the thread back on track. Should us mods be stricter on this? what would everyone think if we suddenly became strict hardasses and started deleting every post that was off topic? I dont necessarily want to have to go that route but it is getting worst with all of the chit-chat between certain members in certain threads.

my point precisely. people seem more interested in talking about miscellaneous topics then actually discovering new music on a MUSIC forum. and that doesnt detract away from the fact people spam needlessy in these threads. i think ive pretty much said enough on what i think.

^ i think people want to learn about music but they also want somewhere to just chat and this provides an outlet....
^^ i dont know if the mods should be stricter... maybe it would work but i dont know what would happen.... |
yes, which is why the lounge exists- so they can talk away from the music forums. i think the mods should go through a protypical phase in which they adopt a more hardline attitude and just see how it goes- kind of a trial period.

^ i agree with that suggestion... keep the topicless conversation to the lounge....

yes... i think the "somewhere" should be the lounge but people always seem to go off track... if the mods try and control it more strictly..... well, lets see what happens....

and the people that say they dont reply to threads we make becuase they've never heard of the artist- bloody check them out then. that is the whole point of these threads, to expand our horizons and discuss our favourite music.
|
^ yep, ive tried to do this more often recently instead of just dismissing it :)
