9/11 was one of the most absolutely gripping things I had ever seen on tv. Class was essentially cancelled for the day because nobody could really fully absorb what had happened and it was just so shocking to see someone fly a fucking plane into a building.
It was raining that morning. My (grade 7?) social studies teacher, who was typically a loud-mouthed republican ass hole, said nothing. Nothing. We all sat in silence.
Does anyone remember watching Princess Diana's funeral? I hadn't sobbed so much as a child, as I did over that.
