Well I'd only use it on you if you were barking.

that wouldn't be likely to happen. never used to bark much as a kid.

though i did go through a phase when i was around 5 or so when i thought i was half dinosaur after i saw jurassic park. my parents gave me this one book which was about what it would be like if dinosaurs were still around. it had dinosaurs doing all sorts of work helping humans out. there was one page which had a t-rex helping lumberjacks by biting down trees. anyway, there was this one really young a skinny pine tree in our yard and i was pretty confident i could take it. wound up slinking away in shame with a mouth full of bark and sap. that ended my half-dinosaur phase.

There are collars that release an unpleasant scent or high pitched sound when the dog barks, and I had one briefly that simply vibrated. There are certainly options.

Can you silence a half dinosaur with it though?

that seems like it would punish me just as much as the dogs. does the vibrating one work?

Yeah, that's the downside.

The vibrating totally worked, it had a low and high setting, he would just at get a confused look on his face and eventually stopped barking at all anytime it was on him. I imagine it felt weird but it certainly wasn't painful for him. I would have kept using it but I left it within his reach and te ****er ate it.
