I can't speak for everyone but I do it just because. The pics are there to comment on, I don't see a difference between telling the men they have a cool shirt or picture versus telling women something I physically like about them in a pic. If I was attracted to men I'd comment on their physical appeal also. I've also commented on the pictures of the ladies that had nothing to do with them.
