I would like to declare war on citing sources in academic papers. I have until midnight tomorrow to upload a three-page research paper for Government. Not a problem. Three pages? If I can't do that in over twenty-four hours then I deserve to fail, but I'm spending more time trying to figure out how to cite sources than I am actually writing the damn thing. All of my sources are electronic, and the methods for citing electronic sources are byzantine and confusing. Even citing eBooks isn't as simple as citing printed books. And don't get me started on my Crusade to figure out how to cite the documentary I watched on Daily Motion. You'd think it'd be simple, but I'm assuming the people who write the guidelines are nerds who assume they're talking to people with more access to their instructors than email.
I officially submit that citing sources be ended as an academic practice, and that all forms of formal learning become as unreliable as 99% of the internet. Let the Evangelicals win. At least I won't have to figure out whether or not I have to cite the page number of a PDF file.

You are officially my favorite person on this site. If I could **** you, I would seriously consider it. I consider sex to be a perfectly legitimate form of payment when the one performing the act does not feel unwillingly compelled to provide such payment, and I do not. This is open to you. I just wanted you to know that. xoxo, The Slutlord P.S. So long as we do STD tests beforehand, I will let you *** in me.

That feeling when you've turned in everything you need to turn in for school for the next week, and all you have to do is do a bit of reading (while learning how to take notes for the first time in... pretty much my entire school career).
On Friday I have a Government exam on all the reading that I'm halfway through, but considering that it's open book, and the end of each chapter pretty much sums up what'll be on the test, with page numbers for important words and the sections of the relevant info clearly marked, I'm anticipating being violently disappointed at having prepared so much for a cakewalk. There's also a paper due in Composition the same day, but I already had to turn in a first draft a few days ago that I'm pretty much satisfied with already. There's a peer review thing that we had to do---I guess so the prof can get his slack on---and while they weren't in-depth, and my fellow students seem to be putting in the bare minimum of effort, I pretty much still seem to have nailed it already if the guy who reviewed mine was any indication. Will probably change around some word choices, and some sentence structures to make sure I don't get penalized, just in case the prof takes off just because I turned in the exact same paper twice. But with an entire week to deal with it, I'm pretty much not even the slightest bit worried about it. The only thing that's worrying me is the Government paper I just turned in. I think it's solid, but I'm still iffy on the whole citing sources thing. I think I did alright considering this is my first experience with citing sources, and I definitely at least put in noticeable effort to get it right, but I'm anticipating some kind of criticism. I got some points taken off one assignment a couple days ago that brought me into the low nineties, but since pretty much all of the work I've had to turn in so far hasn't been too much toward my final grade, a good paper will hopefully boost that 92 up a good amount. And yes, I realize the rest of you ****s have school too, and harder school than my two entry-level, BS, online community college courses, but since this is the first time I've done any kind of schooling in literally over a decade, I feel the need to vent.

2. Have you ever listened to any of the other 'Devastation's? 3. How the hell do you not own headphones? Your neighbors must really DO hate you. |

Back in the day I used to jam out to this, but this is the only thing by any non-Devastation Devastations I've ever listened to.
