A Concise History of Not Knowing What Concise Means
I thought I'd make a little database for Larehip's novellas that we all know and love. Feel free to use this thread to debate what conciseness truly is, and whether or not Larehip is (or maybe should be) using it appropriately.
http://www.musicbanter.com/current-e...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/jazz-blue...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/jazz-blue...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/classical...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/jazz-blue...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/electroni...oncise+history http://www.musicbanter.com/pop/71032...oncise+history I'll be updating the OP if any others pop up. And feel free to use this thread to post your favourite Larehipisms!

I think he does a pretty good job. They are long for forum posts but there are probably multiple full length books on everything he posts about. Jans laughed at me in the atom bomb thread for saying his posts are always worth reading, but I think he covers a lot of info that people who are interested in the subject would enjoy reading.
I've only read a few so maybe I shouldn't have said "always", but I enjoyed the ones I read. |

It never occurred to me, but yes he does rather misuse the word "concise". If his threads were published in pamphlet form, his titles would be fine, but here on an internet forum, a more accurate title might be "The tl;dr history of jazz".
Anyway, his threads are great to use for reference; I like to dip into them, follow up on a clip or two and remind myself to return another day... Here´s a great thread of his for example, and although it´s not a concise history, he still explains all you want to know about the topic, and also shares with us some intriguing autobiographical information:- http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...songs-sea.html So please keep them coming LordLarehip and don´t misconstrue the affectionate humour in this thread, ok?
