Uncontroversial Answer: Less women, less chance for age variance. The age group for the women seems to be the most represented age group for men as well.

Controversial Answer: Women do have a reputation for not being music fans in as big numbers as men (the much smaller number of women on this site doesn't actually dispute this), and it may be that higher numbers of female music fans is a somewhat modern phenomenon for whatever reason (can't say as I'm only twenty-eight), or that women tend to "grow out" of musical nerdiness more than men (hence the lack of female members over a certain age).
