Grammar Week Update: Day I

Now that we are twenty-four hours in, I have locked down The Grammar Nazis.

The Batlord was on a tear. He reported more mistakes than any other member, but due to vigilance from Trollheart, Briks, Frownland, and Plankton, he finished the day at a mere four points.

Trollheart's grammar was shaky, which led to him being caught by The Batlord multiple times. However, he still managed to find enough mistakes to be tied for first place. Four points is his score.

Frownland was ever-vigilant, and was responsible for reporting The Batlord multiple times, but Batty bit back. Frownland ended up with a solid two points and a tie for third place.

Briks managed to make it through the day without getting caught and reported three mistakes. However, one had already been reported by Frownland, whom Briks tied for third place.

Plankton was relatively quiet, but swooped in at the end of the day, when he caught The Batlord. That error is under review, however, and may be overturned in Batty's favour. His score stands at one.

Pet_Sounds reported multiple errors, but also committed multiple errors, which The Batlord reported. He scored one.

Janszoon was silent.

Lehetfield James was also silent, but was reported three times. He's got some ground to make up! Negative three points is his score.

RoxyRollah, Neapolitan, bob., Ninetales, Mondo Bungle, WhateverDude, bulbasaur, DwnWthVwls, Zack, and LoathsomePete were all captured and are awaiting trial.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm going to warn you just this once. I'm Russia, and Winter is coming.

The names of the seasons are not capitalized.

I have just taken Stalingrad.

DwnWthVwls 09-14-2014 08:19 PM

actually his capitalization of winter is okay because he was referencing "general winter" and not the season.

feel free to rip my sentence apart though. I give no ****s.

Big3 would you like to form an anti-Grammar-Nazi Alliance? We will make them look like douches for all the forum to see.

C.U.N.T.

It's still not capitalized. The only times the name of a season is capitalized is when it is at the beginning of a sentence, part of a title, or refers to Frankie Valli. (Although, technically, he was a "Four Season".)

DwnWthVwls 09-14-2014 08:31 PM

it's not a season.. its a personification of the season; a character of WWII.

General Winter.

It's not personification. It wasn't given human characteristics.

He didn't say "General Winter". He merely said "Winter". In that entire article, winter was only capitalized at the beginnings of sentence and as part of the personification, "General Winter". TheBig3's use was clearly not personification.

Anyways, I must sleep now. I have school tomorrow. But I'll get you yet! :bringit:

DwnWthVwls 09-14-2014 08:42 PM

Well I guess only he can say what his intent was but I took it as General Winter considering his reference. If he did mean the season than I agree with you.

RoxyRollah 09-15-2014 12:21 AM

You guys are clogging up every single thread with your psychosis.
I think it might be time to log the **** out for a week if all conversations go the way of the red pen.

I can only stand, this grammar bull**** in about 2 or three threads. Letting it spill in every thread is obnoxious.

Key 09-15-2014 01:02 AM

I'm honestly shocked this whole thing hasn't been considered spam. As Roxy said, its obnoxious and annoying and is one reason I haven't been posting much. I'd rather not feel targeted with each post I make.

Urban Hat€monger ? 09-15-2014 02:05 AM

This bullshit ends right now.
