Default I'm buying a digital SLR and need help
So I'm heading over to B&H tomorrow in NYC to buy a camera. I have a friend who is a photographer in Florida who said I can get a refurbished/used one for around $500 bucks just for the body and a lens for another hundo or so.

The one he suggested was a Nikon D7000.

Anybody have experience with buying cameras so I don't get hosed? Any tips? My price range is $400 - $800.
