Need Manchester Advice

Hey, just wanted to thank everyone who contributed ideas to this thread! We were in Manchester last night, and though we only had a few hours, we had a good time getting a glimpse of the city and doing a lot of people watching.

It was a Saturday night and a One Direction concert had just gotten out so everything was totally packed. We tried going to The Font but it had a line. We tried going to Thirsty Scholar but it was really crowded. In the end, we stumbled across this bar called The Temple that appeared to be built into an old subway station and it turned out to be just the kind of dive I love. Lots of character and quite a few characters in there. Really friendly bartenders as well.

On a side note, you'll be happy to know when we were taking the taxi into town from the airport, I saw signs for Bolton and thought of you.

Edit: I just looked it up, The Temple is a former underground toilet. Even better!

Sounds cool. I'll have to check that bar out, it's very close to the train station I expect us to be coming out from on Saturday.

I'd recommend it, assuming you like a good dive bar. I enjoyed it.
