I'm with Engine on this one; I may have been here for more than a year at this point but I still trust no one. All the people I like are just as in and out as I am and although I can't say anything negative has happened to me, I do see negativity here a lot. Maybe it's just cause the negativity stays at the top of "new posts" more often than the positive.

In any case I stick around because you never know when you might meet your best music friend ever on a music forum full of weirdos and outcasts. No offense. (except to Batlord, you may be offended if you wish).

Positive, or else I wouldn't be here.

I am gonna say, like I have before many times, there are some people on here that I would just about anything for if they needed me to irl. No questions, whether it's helping hide bodies, loan them cash, or just being a friend with a good pair of ears.

Matter of fact the sad part of my offline life is not a single person I know that knew my dad had a heart attack last week called and asked me if he was ok, or I was ok.

Yet my pm box was flooded and my phone went off every hour on the hour it seemed like. So for that MB, I thank you guys!

And before I hear the usual chant from the nay sayers of how strange it is to take your online friendships offline. I just want to point out, nobody on the board ever meets in person, becomes roommates, does the wild thing, or texts one another. Nobody. That is all hogwash!

Well I've said this before, but despite the fact that I don't see any common musical ground between us at all, I like you and I'm glad you've stuck around.

Roxy I apologise. I didn't know about your dad, probably due to my eternal absence from the ShoutBox and Plug. Hope he's ok now honey and hope you are too. Also hope you know you can call on me if you need anything.

MB is the No.1 music forum on the net, and I'm glad to be part of the community.

To me, it's just a real as any other experience; I'm interacting with human beings. Their willingness to treat other people like crap is telling of their character, regardless of the nature of the media through which they do it.
I feel just the same as Necro and Xurtio, and goofle (I think) who said something about expanding his musical tastes here. Pre-MB I was pretty much lost and alone in a musical wilderness, making hesitant steps from one artist to another without any real direction or companionship to my musical curiosity.(If that sounds odd, it may be because I`m thinking of pre-internet days as well.) Anyway, for me it`s been wonderful to be able to discuss music with so many well-informed, genuinely interested people.

I`m also very grateful that I don`t see any age discrimination here. In real life, you meet someone new and straight off you can`t help but make judgements based on age/gender/appearance, but here on MB we by-pass that superficial stuff and the focus is on your (on-line)character or shared musical enthusiasms. In that sense, MB trumps real life as being more...ahgh can`t think of the word ! But anyone who reads this should give themselves a pat on the back; together, we really are a functioning community of music lovers.

LOL; yeah, don`t let anyone pressurise you into making a snap decision, Engine!

(PS: I also hope your dad is going to be ok Roxy.)

No probs. I'm too busy masturbating to take offense to much of anything.
