Had boiled potatoes last night. With butter, salt, and Italian seasoning, with mustard for dipping. They were fine until I put in the green pepper Cholula hot sauce and then they became surprisingly ace. Might do it again tonight. Boiled potatoes aren't much more than survival food but done right they're highly satisfying anyway. I do love how when you have a bowl of boiled potatoes and stir in a bunch of butter they get a slight mushy texture on the outside.

For sure. Like the town I grew up in, you couldn't get any fresh produce 9 months out of the year. And it's expensive to have to supplement with vitamins and protein powders. Hence, impossible if you want a well balanced diet.

I've been having a lot of fish and chicken lately, but last night I splurged on a Wagu Beef burger from Bonefish Grill. Really tastee.

I'm gonna go broke ordering from there though. With the DD delivery fee and all the Cook County taxes, that was a $30 burger. It came with some fire bacon mac & cheese, so that takes some of the sting out.

Oy.

A once in a blue moon burger.

I usually get their Chicken Marsala, which is outstanding, but anything with mushrooms is gonna be a hit with me. The Bang Bang Shrimp is also really good. My daughter and me used to go there for brunch quite a bit. I really do miss that.

Rice, beans, frozen/canned veggies, b12 and vitamin D is really all you need. I think a lot of people make it seem more expensive and unrealistic than it really is, and a lot of it has to do with really not knowing what to do with vegetables besides boiling them or adding them into other ****.

I could see how the lack of fresh produce sucks, but I wouldnt call it unreasonably difficult or expensive without them.
